Ginny Foat Candidate StatementFor the past two years I have worked diligently to be your voice on the City Council. I am proud of my record of accomplishments. I have been a strong voice for fiscal conservancy and have continuously advocated for quality of life issues. As my record indicates, I do not believe in governance from the top down. Rather, I involve citizens and businesses in my decision making process and consult with neighborhood organizations on issues which directly impact residents. I promoted the establishment of neighborhood organizations and was instrumental in creating the ordinance that gives them a strong voice in city government. When downtown business owners approached me about needed improvements in our downtown corridor I initiated a survey of the merchants to pinpoint the issues that were important to them. Then I started working on solutions. My record of active listening, asking the hard questions and constituent service is the hallmark of my time as a Councilmember. I am asking for your vote so that I can continue the important work we started to maintain Palm Springs as the preeminent city of the desert and world class vacation destination.
